( ) I first read Louisa May Alcott when I was nine years old, and loved the Little Women series. So I was disappointed that this book was based in England in the Regency period. But I would have liked it if it was written with the same warmth and verve. Instead the writing is stilted, the story is confusing and the characters are one-dimensional.
