Het doet zeker in het begin aan als een spannende jeugdroman maar dan ééntje waar de spanning op meesterlijke wijze wordt in opgebouwd. Dan Brown laat in dit werk zijn magie zien, een gave die je even laat wegdromen in een andere leven. Inhoudelijk worden wetenschappelijke feiten vermengd met fictie zodat het verhaal altijd geloofwaardig blijft. Als je enkele uren wil genieten is dit werk zeker aan te raden. ( ) Onder het poolijs ligt iets wat de wereld voorgoed kan veranderen? Een NASA-satelliet doet een opzienbarende ontdekking op de Noordpool.
