This book is a fun twist on weather patterns using different foods. Although, the title of the book gives this plot away. The book is set in a regular town with regular people, but what happens is not. I have always loved loved this story. I have read this story to many children including my Sunday School courses. Watch out! This book will make you hungry. The book can be a different way to teach children about weather or if you just want a break from monotonous work sheets. Some versions of this story tend to be a very long read. I suggest breaking it up and talking, or journaling about the different events that happen throughout the story. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

The Town of Chewandswallow is very much like any other tiny town, except for its weather. It never rains rain and it never snows snow and it never blows just wind. It rains things like soup and juice. It snows things like mashed potatoes and popcorn. And sometimes the wind blows in storms of hamburgers. Life for the townspeople of Chewandswallow is delicious! Delicious, that is, until the weather takes a sudden turn for the worse in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The town is suddenly plagued by damaging floods and storms of huge food, and the people fear for their lives. Something has to be done -- and in a hurry! Find out what happens when something is done in Pickles to Pittsburgh, where siblings Kate and Henry discover that the townspeople of Chewandswallow have big, BIG plans in place.
