She writes the story that is set in a an African village. The colors in this book pop as you read and it makes you feel as if you are right there along side the story. I love the way she changes the background and even Santa. She makes the story culturally relative to a certain region which I believe should be done more often in many folktales. Everything about this book was great, Rachel Isadora made sure she didn't leave any detail behind. ( ) The Night Before Christmas is the Christmas classic everyone has heard of. This story takes place in an African village where a family is about the witness the arrival of Santa and his reindeer. Author, Clement C. Moore, uses a rhyming technique in the poem and the words all flow together so perfectly. This was very easy to read and I think children just learning about poetry will really enjoy this book and pick up on the rhymes. Rachel Isadora did an amazing job on the illustrations and really put a lot of detail into the pictures showing what African toys and clothing are like. The watercolors were beautiful and definitely eye catching! This book is a different version of the beloved story The Night Before Christmas using an African setting. The Author, Rachel Isadora, was inspired to write children's books using African people and settings from her time spent living in Africa. The Night Before Christmas is about St. Nicholas delivery toys to little girls and boys on Christmas Eve. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
