Irving and Muktuk, the hilarious anti-heroes of the Pinkwaters' Bad Bears books, return in their fifth and (to date) final adventure. Relaxing after a day at the zoo, the incorrigible pair are busy cheating each other at cards when their friend Larry - the life-guard polar bear who features in another of the Pinkwaters' wonderful picture-book series - drops in for a visit. Visits are fun, Irving and Muktuk decide, and the very next night they sneak out to pay one themselves...

The only Bad Bears book not in my public library's collection, I've put off trying to locate a copy of Bad Bears Go Visiting for a while now, dreading the fact that - once it was read - there would be no more Irving and Muktuk to follow. With Daniel Pinkwater's dry text, and Jill Pinkwater's droll illustrations, the "Bad Bears" come to life, in all their sly glory. This latest title may not be the most hilarious (what could top Bad Bear Detectives?), but is still an engaging entry in one of my favorite picture-book series of all-time. Surely this is cannot be the end for these muffin-thieving polar bears from Bayonne! ( )

This book would be great for early readers. The illustrations are fun and make the story fun to read. Everyone should like this book.

I loved this book! It was very cute and is a great book for older toddlers. Great illustrations that correlate nicely with the vocabulary. ( )
