A headstrong and courageous young woman in a man's world, Serenity James knows she is barely tolerated in her father's newspaper office. An exclusive story about the dreaded Sea Wolf, however, will earn her the respect she so fervently desires. I have a few problems with this book. First, the author has an unfortunate fondness for sentence fragments. Commas exist for a reason, people! I love a good appositive phrase as much as the next girl, but please let's make it part of a proper sentence. Second, Serenity is a 'bluestocking'--she's all "women should be equal to men! We have minds and deserve a place in the world!" And our romantic hero's reply is basically "Your place is in my bed, woman!" Their fundamentally different world views were never reconciled, and I was unconvinced by the love story. ( )
