Summary: This book is about an Armadillo who had tall ears as a jackrabbit's and as wide as a steer's horns. Though they got in the way all the time so he could not run fast enough to get water. Though he was a great listener, but not in a good way. He tended to tell tails that would get him in trouble. That all changes when he messed with alligator. Alligator was mad so he cut Armadillos ear into small ears. Though that made Armadillo very happy.
Review: Funny book. Great for children to read and such a colorful book. It has a good plot to it also.
Class: Can use to show students why its bad to eavesdrop on people conversation.

I think this story is great, and definitely a book that could be read to elementary classrooms. Tattling is very common so it can address this and even bullying too. This is also a funny book and has great pictures, so it would be enjoyable. ( )

Armadillo crises wolf a bit, he promises not to ease drop several times before the alligator gets fed up with it and cuts his ears down.

McDermitt had a lot of Ketteman - Yay! Energetic fable, smart and funny... but should the gossips (those who the MC was eavesdropping on) got off scot-free? I mean, at least some of them were almost as mean-spirited and should also have been taught a lesson, to be fair.... ( )
