I was at first taken aback by all the nitty-gritty corporate law details but quickly found it interesting enough. Primarily the relationship among the three women main characters, all with diverse personalities, carried the story forward to a believable conclusion. ( ) Book 4 of the Rosato & Associates legal thriller. Previous books have helped introduce each attorney by focusing most of the book's plot around each associate. I'm enjoying this series as it makes me think of the James Patterson Women's Murder Club series that I've completed. Bennie Rosato owns the practice and she's tough as nails. However, an inmate has reached out to Bennie and when Bennie consults with the new client it's like looking into a mirror. So enjoyable. Like how it sticks to the story of the case without sex scenes. Surprised there was no exchanging of each other when Alice Connolly dressed like her twin for the court. Neat how Rosato acted so professionally even when her life was all goofed up. Finding out mother ditched father, has a twin, father doesn't want her in end, mother dies without answers about past. Enjoyed Lou as former cop now investigator. Humor from Mary with her doubts as a lawyer and her Italian parents, Judy learns a bit of boxing. READ IN DUTCH I wasn't aware of Lisa Scottoline's books before I encountered a copy of Mistaken Identities at a sale. This was in a period where I read a lot of detective/suspense books so I wanted to give it a try. For me, this one was ok. I don't think it had a very compelling story or gave a very good view on law procedures, but it wasn't too bad either. Although, I still haven't read the other book by Lisa Scottoline that I own. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Bennie Rosato, the head of her own law firm, specializes in police misconduct cases. However, nothing can prepare her for a meeting with her new client, Alice Connolly. Accused of murdering her lover, a highly decorated police officer, Connolly claims the police framed her. What shocks Bennie is that Connolly looks just like her. "Pleased to meet you. I'm your twin. Your identical twin." Connolly tells Bennie, who grew up an only child, or so she thought. But Connolly knows too many intimate details about Bennie's life and family. With the trial only a week away, Bennie plunges into the mystery of the murder and her family's dark secrets. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
