"Huckle Cat and Lowly Worm have fun learning about colors, counting, shapes and sizes, the alphabet, good manners, the months of the year, and more than 700 words. They help with the housework, go to school, play in the playground, shop at the supermarket, visit the doctor, look at a farm, drive to the harbor, stop at the railroad station, and more. " (book cover description). The book is written and illustrated by American children's author and illustrator Richard Scarry who published over 300 books with total sales of over 100 million worldwide. Frankly speaking, When I first read this book I was way to old for it. My brother got it for his 3rd (?) birthday and fell in love with it immediately. He refused to let go of it, took it everywhere he went. Curious as I was (and still am), I took the book in a moment that he was not there and liked it very much too. The humor, drawings, words that were explained, fantastic! So, when I got the chance, I let my son read it too. And the story repeated itself :) One of my favourite books as a child. I had to get a new copy for my kids, since my copy was falling apart. My four year old loves sitting in her chair and looking at all the pictures, and now she's even starting to read the words. My copy was the British edition, and some words were changed for our new (US edition) copy. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
