A great, simple way of describing the water cycle to younger students. Two friends go out on a hot day and it ends up raining. As they play through the rain, they explain where the water is coming from and going.

There are a couple of reasons I liked this book. I like how it is very informative for the readers. As an adult, I actually learned something new about “rain” just by reading this book. I think the books illustrations are very helpful and appropriate with the mood of the story even though I don’t think this book had a mood. This book was more informative. Children who are starting to read would love this book and especially those who love science. It is a book informing the reader’s how rain is made and what happens before, during, and after it rains. It made me realize that you don’t have to have a bunch of information to talk about or learn about a topic; rather you can have the main points and tell an informative story to help children understand about a topic, event, or anything. Even though this book felt more informative, I think it had a good plot because there was a beginning middle and end to it. It began with the day being hot, then rain, and then hot, finally rain again. But during each scene, the characters were still there and technically explaining what happens when it rains or how it starts to rain. Overall, I can see beginning readers to read this book and falling in love with science. I can also see parents reading this or even teachers using this book possibly in a small lesson. ( )
