Each poem has their own topic and a creative title. These poems are all the author, Dennis Lee's, favorite poems I recommend this fun book to 1-3 graders. IT provides short easy reading for the kids to stay focused and entertained. This book also provides many different poem options inside one book! I would recommend this book to younger elementary students who are reading short poems. This book goes through many short poems about different topics that are funny and interesting for little kids. This would be good in the classroom because there are many options of children's poetry all in one book and they are all short so they are attainable for children to read. Summary: this is a book full of several cute poems for children. The topics range from skyscrapers, to windshield wipers, to animals of all kinds. Personal Reaction: I really enjoyed the poems on this book. They were cute, and I can imagine that loss would find them very fun and entertaining. Classroom Extensions: 1: Use the poem, The Secret Place, and have kids write or draw what their own secret place inside of them would be like. 2: Have the children write their own silly poem about something that is on the book, like Alligator Pie, or make up their own silly thing to write about. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
