Perhaps what I disliked about them was their inability to talk to one another about what they were feeling...what they wanted. Mitch and Sam were perfect for one another, they had something special going for them from the start, but Sam let other people influence him and didn't begin to tell Mitch how he felt until more than halfway through the book. I thought until the last chapter that Sam was going to mess up the best thing that ever happened to him. Glad to see the very, very happy ending. That being said I would've loved an epilogue to tell us a bit about the "after" in their "happily ever after." ( ) 1st read: rated 5/5. Cullinan's character and relationship building have made her a top romance author for me. And she made me enjoy non-magic/sci-fi contemporary romance! Re-read: rated 4/5. I disconnected slightly upon re-read for a couple reasons. One, it toed the consent line of a kink I understand intellectually but not personally, although it was always clear the MC was never in danger. Two, it's told from the perspective of a college-aged MC figuring out his romantic and sexual desires, an age group and conflict I've since out-aged. Also, I re-read it in audio and the narrator made one protagonist sound too slimy. However, I will absolutely continue the series and HIGHLY recommend. I really enjoyed the beginnings of this one and liked where it was going for most of the book. When Sam first meets Mitch in the alley behind his aunt and uncle's pharmacy, there's definitely a spark there between them and I was excited to see how that would grow when they met again and eventually set out on the road together. The dynamic between Sam and Mitch was interesting to me, though I really felt thrown with the introduction of Randy and even now I'm still sorting out how I feel about that dynamic, though partly because I was hoping to see Mitch and Sam go in a different direction. Overall, the writing is great - very descriptive and gets in your head (there were many times I found myself humming a song later in the day and remembered that it was referenced in the book). I definitely found it easy to connect to Sam and his experiences and was quickly invested in the relationship in this one. Just as an aside, there is a bit of BDSM kink in this one, but nothing too over-the-top. I first read this book back in 2011, and since then I've read it a few times more, but this was my first time listening to it. Iggy Toma is an excellent, reliable narrator and I enjoyed listening to him - he brought an entirely new dimension to my old favorite characters. As for the story itself, I'm glad it stood the test of time so well. I found it as enjoyable as I did the first time I read it, maybe even more so because of the comfort element of re-reading a known favorite story. Wow. This book was so much more and so much better than I expected. I was a little hesitant due to the BDSM and multiple partners warnings I had seen but it was written so well. I really connected with Sam and Mitch. I found myself sobbing at times as Sam thought and talked about his mom and as I watched Sam grow and discover himself. I really loved this and can't wait to read Randy's book!

HTML: When your deepest, darkest fantasy shows up, get on board. Special Delivery, Book 1. Sam Keller knows he'll never find the excitement he craves in Middleton, Iowaâ??not while he's busting his ass in nursing school and paying rent by slaving away in a pharmacy stockroom. Then Sam meets Mitch Tedsoe, an independent, long-haul trucker who makes a delivery to a shop across the alley. Innocent flirting quickly leads to a fling, and when Mitch offers to take him on a road trip west, Sam jumps at the chance for adventure. Mitch is sexy, funny and friendly, but once they embark on their journey, something changes. One minute he's the star of Sam's every x-rated fantasy, the next he's almost too much a perfect gentleman. And when they hit the Las Vegas city limit, Sam has a name to pin on Mitch's malady: Randy. For better or for worse, Sam grapples with the meaning of friendship, letting go, growing upâ??even the meaning of loveâ??because no matter how far he travels, eventually all roads lead home. This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release. Warning: This story contains trucker fantasies, threesomes and kinky consensual Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
