Ok, for the life of me I still can quite figure out what this book was about. There was defiantly a disconnect between the plot and my brain as I'm lost as to what the plot actually was. As far as I can see it was about keys to the Harmony- a book which will bring harmony I guess to the 7 magical families. At the same time it was about a bunch of body snatchers taking the body of the a rich and spoiled 3rd wheel to the main characters relationship and framing his for murder. Again, this is just guessing as the whole book was a glaze over. I was rather excited to read about this hero as I enjoyed his playful demeanor in the previous books and I also began to love him for his obvious bitterness about being passed over as the head of the family. I liked some aspects of the heroine but also disliked some as well. I really liked how mature she was. Though she did snap at people and be a little bitchy at times, she was woman enough to immediately apologize and attempt to her wrongs. But she was stupidly naïve to the motives of the 3rd wheel. She did lead him on despite what the hero says because she allowed the guy to get to the next step. It's obvious he intends to marry you and the fact that she didn't immediately shut him down gave him the idea that she was playing hard to get. At first the hero and heroine chemistry was nice. There was obvious tension between them due to the heroine's past actions. The hero actually put the heroine in a trance to stop her from seeing the 3rd wheel whom is being accused of murder but unwittingly this triggers their Bond and from there on they are attached at the hip. I thought it disturbing that the hero actually slept with the heroine while she was in the trance so she was unaware of her actions but she forgave him quickly enough. I think it was ok because the trance just man her aware of her true deep emotions and desires but it was still off putting to say the least. I was extremely disappointed with this book. It had zero substance or drive. It certainly wasn't a suspense or even a murder mystery. It had romance was it wasn't a very good one. I'm said to say I found this entire series lackluster and rather dull to say the least. But the fact that it ended on such a low note has seriously made me reconsider reading any further novels by this author. ( )

The final edition in the Court of Angels trilogy is the best of them all. By this time, the reader has gotten the hang of the somewhat confusing paranormal world these people are living in and what their powers are. Although, quite a few of them develop new powers as necessary to escape the current situation, which is somewhat lazy storytelling. Cameron is much better at writing believable chemistry between two characters than she is writing suspense, police jargon, or fantasy tales. The book really sizzles when focused on the burgeoning romance of Sykes and Poppy, who this reader had been rooting for since the previous book. It's very gratifying to see them come together. What is not gratifying is the climax to the Millet family's battle with the Embran and the big reveal of the Harmony and the Ultimate Power that it holds. Total letdown. Cameron uses a shadowy ancestor (a device she employed before in her Mayfair Square series, to much the same underwhelming effect) to imply that there may be more books forthcoming involving characters we've been introduced to in and around the Court of Angels. While that would certainly be welcome, hopefully Cameron doesn't think she needs to come up with a new supernatural threat to menace them. She should really just stick to couples meeting and marrying as that's what she does best. ( )
