I like that the chapters are short and the plot moves along at a rapid pace. Some loose ends are not tied up, but hey, this is not High Literature. He is one of my favorite authors for a bathroom reader...you can sit for a little while, read a few chapters, and put it down. Then when the need arises, you can sit and pick it right up again. ( ) Finally! I had despaired of reading anything better than mediocre from Woods. In this book I actually found all of the characters sympathetic, including the murderous Barbara. At the end of the tale (which sets up the next book), I was happy when all of the bad and good guys lived to interact again. I don't recommend reading this book if this is your first Stuart Woods book. Find out what book is the first Ed Eagle novel and read that instead. If you like it and If you continue reading those books featuring this character and then read this book, you may then enjoy this book. Otherwise, there is only confusion and wondering what the heck these people have in common to be in the same book together. I really only kept going on this book because there were a couple of plots that kept me interested and I wanted to see them play out. The rest just inspired a WTF reaction because I didn't see how other parts of the book related to other characters and it was all very jagged in switching between these peoples. So I definitely want to state again either read the Ed Eagles in order or ignore them entirely and go to the Stone Barrington books where Woods has a much better style. NOTE: I still believe that the Stone Barrington books have a much better style but I believe now that you have to read both the Barrington AND Ed eagle books in chronological order (as in read all of the books by Stuart Woods in order they are published) for this book to actually work so that you don't end up as confused as I was when I originally wrote the review. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
