This was a nice little book, and it is a book that lends itself to rereading. It also lends itself to simply browsing around. It is basically a collection of sayings, quotes, and meditations. These are framed by a small prologues and epilogue. I think the main message is one of striving to be better, to improve oneself. Sure, one makes mistakes once in a while, but that is part of the experience of life. It's what you do with defeats; it's how you learn and grow. While I still prefer Coehlo writing fiction, this is still a good, easy read. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Paulo Coelho inspired millions of readers around the world and became one of the most beloved storytellers of our time with the international bestselling phenomenon The Alchemist. Now, in the beloved companion to his classic, The Warrior of The Light: A Manual invites us to live out our dreams to embrace the uncertainty of life, and to rise to our own unique destiny. In his inimitable style, Paulo Coelho shows readers how to embark upon the way of the Warrior: the one who appreciates the miracle of being alive, the one who accepts failure, and the one whose quest leads him to become the person he wants to be. Paulo Coelho disappointed me. Sure, there were some interesting observations.
On the whole, however, I thought he had searched the internet for a lot of inspirational material, and cobbled it together to sound mystical.
It brought almost no new insight for me and left me feeling cold. ( )
