Na prateleira número 5 ( ) First off I have to be honest and say that it is amazing that I have even finished reading this book. It took me about three tries over several years. This time the third time is the charm. I was able to connect with the story and the characters. Although I must admit there were no surprises to be found in this story. It was apparent right away who all of the major players were and their connection to the big picture. Yet I am glad to see that Grace was not the wilting wallflower that I first took her for. She is a fighter. While there were no surprises to the plot the ending was a good one and for this I appreciate the fact that this story had a good ending otherwise I would have said it was all for nothing. For the most part this is a good read. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. It took me a while to read this book as my company relocated me just as I received it and it was packed away until now. At times Grace Brookstein made me want to shake her! How could she be so clueless? In the end, you have to applaud the way that she picked herself up and learned to take command of her life! This will be a keeper and a definite re-read.geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Blessed with the face of an angel and the guileless, trusting nature of a child, Grace Brookstein is the prized wife of the king of Wall Street, Lenny Brookstein. Despite the stock market's terrifying collapse, the Brooksteins' glamorous lifestyle of polo tournaments and jets remains untouched--until the day Lenny goes sailing from their Nantucket beach estate and never comes home. When his abandoned yacht is found far out at sea, Grace is devastated. She has no idea that his disappearance is just the beginning of a dark, terrifying nightmare of murder, lies, greed, and betrayal that will shatter her life and destroy everything she has ever known.
