Funny and warm, with some science facts worked in, but be advised there is a LOT of pop humor. I talked to a bunch of 3rd graders who read this and it cracked me up that several of them said it was boring when the author's whole motivation was to write a book that wasn't boring. I think it's because 3rd grade might be a little too mature for this. The biggest gag is that Rabbit eats his own poo (true fact!). Bear is an extraordinarily kind character who helps Rabbit even though Rabbit is sort of a jerk. This could be a good pick for very strong readers ages 4-6 or as a read-aloud for those ages. Older kids may only enjoy it if the word "poop" still gives them the giggles. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Rabbit & Bear (1) Prijzen
From novelist and playwright Julian Gough, and the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, Jim Field, comes a brilliantly funny story of a rabbit and bear who discover that things are always better when they're shared with a friend ... Bear wakes up early from hibernation. If she can't sleep, then at least she can make a snowman. Rabbit has never made a snowman, but he definitely wants to make one that's better than Bear's. But with an avalanche and a hungry wolf heading his way, Rabbit soon realises that it might be nice to have a friend on your side. A tale of friendship, gravity, and just a little bit of poo.
