"A Horse in the House..." is an informational book that is a collection of crazy animal stories from around the world. The book features a large number of stories, but my personal favorite was the story of a moose in Spokane, WA. On a hot day, a woman looked out into her backyard only to find a moose swimming in her pool! After its swim, the moose leapt over the fence and strolled away. Many of the other stories are similar to this in their structuring. While the information in this book is anything but academic, I think that it is a really fun example of an informational text. In a class, because each story is independent of the others, I think it would be really fun to read one a day or something of that sort. I see this being used as more of an entertaining book rather than a book to accompany curriculum directly.
