When local business Scott Stevenson is found dead only his mother seems to care. DCI Alex Warren with his team are given the job of investigating this low-life. A good start to a new series (for me) of a modern crime series set in Glasgow.
When Hector Mathewson is found dead within the cask room of a distillery it is up to DCI Alex Warren and his team to investigate. And it doesn't take long to find quite a few motives. An enjoyable mystery .
At the reheasal of her own play Sheila Armstrong is killed by a fellow actor. DCI Alex Warren has arrived just in time from his holiday to take charge of his team, meanwhile girlfriend DI Sandra McKinnon has her own case to solve. Enjoyable story
**I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review**
Source, by Zach Abrams, follows Tom and his fellow journalists Sally and Ahmed as they attempt to unravel a sinister plot to overthrow the financial leviathan of the RNB through means such as damaging rumours and by manipulating the stock market. The question is- why? In the midst of all this, they have plenty going on in their personal lives.
I’ll be honest, this book wasn't my cup of tea. Politics and economics aren't things I enjoy, at all. Things started off a bit slow, but then the action picked up and pulled me in. That being said, I did find the characters interesting. I especially liked Tom, and truly felt for him as he juggled everything. I can't imagine the stress journalists go through.
🎻🎻🎻 recommended if you enjoy white crime/ corporate thrillers, and political intrigue novels.… (meer)
