This book represents academic philosophy at its worst. It claims to be a philosophical analysis of ideology, but the author's primary concern is to refer to famous philosophers as often as possible: Marx, Wittgenstein, Kant, Popper, Kuhn, etc. Not many of these references made much sense to me and they certainly don't amount to a useful analysis of ideology. When he writes about real-world ideologies the author uses extreme examples like nazism and marxism. More recent political ideologies would in my opinion have been more interesting subjects of discussion. All in all a poor book which I don't recommend to anyone.… (meer)
