Julie Adams was born Betty May Adams in Waterloo, Iowa on October 17, 1926. She attended Little Rock Junior College but dropped out at the age of 19 after being named Miss Little Rock of 1946. She moved to Hollywood to be an actress. After making low-budget westerns for Lippert Pictures, she signed toon meer with Universal-International Pictures. She worked as a Hollywood film and television actress for more than six decades. She appeared in around 50 feature films including Bend of the River, The Mississippi Gambler, The Wings of a Hawk, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Six Bridges to Cross, Away All Boats, Tickle Me, and The Last Movie. She appeared on more than 90 television series including The Rifleman; Bonanza; Perry Mason; Marcus Welby, M.D.; Murder, She Wrote; Cold Case; and CSI New York. Her autobiography, The Lucky Southern Star: Reflections from the Black Lagoon written with Mitchell Danton, was published in 2011. She died on February 3, 2019 at the age of 92.
