Paul Ashdown

An interesting outline of the life of John Mosby in regards to history as well as the mytho's sourounding him including forays into the use of the man in popular (and less so) tv, movies, art, and literature throughout the years. The last two chapters are a bit dry as they go into the background as to the failure of the 1950's TV show but overall the book has many good tidbits. The author does a good job of pointing out what popular culture gets right as well as wrong in desrcibing one of the most successful raiders of the civil war. A good read.… (meer)
