This is a sweet book that could be a bonding experience for a parent and child. The illustrations are beautiful and there are tiny factoids about different animals, but it mostly illuminates the nurturing power of parents of all species. "If you were a lynx, I would search for a fallen tree to shelter us, and we would snuggle behind the roots to stay warm." Each set of pages follows that style. It's very cute.

Thanks to Netgalley and Sasquatch Books for this digital review copy.

Asper-Smith, Sarah. Have You Ever Seen a Smack of Jellyfish? Little Bigfoot, 2010.
UNP. Primary.
Have You Ever Seen a Smack of Jellyfish is a simple, but cute alphabet book that goes through the alphabet letter by letter and talks about different groups of animals that begin with that letter. The illustrations are simple, but colorful and engaging for young readers. I will include this book in my library.

Alaskan Connections: Animals that can be found in Alaska.
Activity: Practice and learn the alphabet, learn about different animals and their group names.

Realistic illustrations bring this book to life. A sweet tale of animal families and the places they live, each page also includes a fun fact about the animal shown. But it is the pictures that really stands out for me here - they are just beautiful! This would make a great bedtime (or anytime!) story!

This is a sweet children's book. It shows the homes of various animals and gives facts about those animals, and of course ends with a human child and parent walking to their home. I enjoyed that the human parent & child were shadowy outlines so any person reading it could fit themselves into the book. I thought the selection of animals was nice - some familiar favorites (polar bears) but some deep cuts as well (tufted puffins). The artwork is fairly realistic and not too cutesy, which is one thing I appreciate in an animal book. Altogether I enjoyed this book.

I received this ebook for free via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
