Not quite “Backyard Nuclear Reactor”, but still pretty awesome. The author details how to build furnaces, core boxes, and pouring equipment to cast your own iron and light alloy parts. I think this is probably beyond me, even a younger, stronger, and smarter me. To be fair there is a warning: “Of all the metalworking hobbies, foundry work is perhaps the least forgiving in lapses of safety”. Probably useful if you feel comfortable toting around crucible of molten iron.
