This was a tedious "scientific" review of various psychical and paranormal phenomenon. Some effort was spent "proving" that animals do have some psychical ability and have an after life. He used many stories of bereaved pet owners hearing their dead dog barking until they got a new pet etc. However, more time was taken on discussing fraudulent mediums and comparing them to the rare ethical medium. Furthermore, even fraudulent mediums sometimes give "veridical" information from the beyond. He used the word "veridical" at least once every ten pages. He must have assumed the reader takes books more seriously if they use words like "veridical" instead of "authentic" or "truthful."… (meer)
