Maribel narrates the story of having to move in with her aunt and uncle after her Papi loses his job. Papi says it's por un ratito, only for a little while, and Maribel remembers other instances of family coming to stay or visit with them, or other things that were only por un ratito (but felt like mucho tiempo, when her arm was in a cast). Maribel and her older sister Aurelia support each other, and the extended family is clearly warm and close. Maribel says, "I believe in Papi" and the dream of having a house of their own again - para siempre.
