DNF-18%


Sadly this one is a DNF for me and though I finished at 18% here as this was an extremely long book (717 Pages) I actually read a fair whack before throwing in the towel.
This book just wasn't a good fit for me: though it should have been as I usually love this type of fiction.
So firstly I found the style of narration used here hard to get used to.
I would have eventually settled into this but I also wasn't that fond of the central characters who to me came across as shallow and self-serving.
I need to find some sort of connection to the main players and here I just couldn't.
I then found Shade Medici rather cringy when I should have found him sexy and Kate well let's just say we don't have a great deal in common and I have never owned or had any inclinations to possess a pair of Jimmy Choo's and I don't know anyone in my circle who does.
Add in the Other Woman stuff and I was so out, I let the first incident go as It was mainly glossed over so I could somewhat deal but the second time it happened when he is actively wooing Kate NO SIREEE!!!!
If you like the more traditional type of wooing then this could well be a fit for you, me I am more a fan of the caveman approach.
Don't let my opinion put you off as this wasn't actually badly written just not my bag.
