I really hate a beta hero.... what is the point in romance? I know that not all men are alpha but when I read a romance of any kind... I want an alpha hero!

Loved that the heroine was shown to be disabled. Disabled people fall in love too! And have a life.

Stalker was not very stalkish...... would have been better if he were shown to be twisted and evil..but this is a Harlequin.

Loved the ending because it was very sweet.

Marietta Vincenti (30-year-old art gallery manager in Rome) has been getting flowers with notes for many weeks from a secret-admirer-turned-stalker. Marietta’s brother (Leo) asks his good friend Nico Cesar (36-year-old Private Security Tycoon) to step in and help his sister.

When the stalker breaks into her apartment and leaves rose petals and lingerie on Marietta’s bed Nico and Leo agree that Marietta should temporarily stay with Nico at his island home in Toulon (southern coast of France) till her stalker is caught. Marietta is angry and really does not want to go---she is very independent and headstrong, but she reluctantly agrees for her brother’s sake.

While they are on the island Marietta and Nico become lovers…

I found this book to be just OK. The heroine was interesting, a painter who managed a gallery, (she was a paraplegic who could no longer walk due to a car accident 13 years ago) but I couldn’t understand why she was so angry and adamant about not wanting to leave her apartment and go with Nico to his island at first. (If some unknown, perverted stalker broke into my home and left see-through underwear, rose petals, and lingerie on my bed with a creepy note I’d be glad to have some security men/bodyguards trying to help me out.)

The story never really grabbed my attention. The stalker was barely in it. The hero was a widower (a theme I tend to avoid) who was still touchy over the subject of his dead wife (who died ten years ago). The storm that hit the island at the end livened things up a bit. I did like the part when Nico took Marietta on a hot air balloon ride, which was on her wishlist.
