This collection of personal essays puts a human face on genetics discourse on disease-causing mutations, a discourse that tends to become dryly statistical and abstract except to those fated to actually carry a genetic inheritance for cystic fibrosis, blindness, breast cancer, or something else. The stories are personal, heart-wrenching, and inspiring as they reveal lives, struggles, family cultures, and courageous decisions made by each writer. King Hierre lives on Planet Was. Everyday he does the same and he hates new things. His son Prince Hierre wants to change that because he finds it very boring. One day he just does what he wants and invents new things and changes everything and in the end everyone on Planet Was is happy about that. The text of the story is rhyming which makes it enjoyable to read and the illustrations are diverting and colorful. I like the message of the story - that you have to take matters into your hands if you want to change something.… (meer)
