This memoir tells the story of Elke Zell who was a "Hitler Baby" placed in an orphanage shortly after birth and remained there until she was in her early teen years when her mother and sister brought her to the United States to be an indentured servant for her sister's special needs daughter. This story (in two parts) tells about Elke's life in the orphanages of post-war Germany and about her first five years (ages 13-18) in the US.
