Can you imagine if the bookshelves came to life in YOUR library? I mean, imagine the stories they could tell...but then again, what about their stories? That’s the bridge that this book builds...one between the shelves that hold our beloved wordy treasures and the readers themselves...while also showing how to be a true friend to one and all.

It reminds us that no one is too tall or too small, nor too young or too old, to lend a helping hand or make a friend. The world can be a harsh place, but the more kindness, the more friendliness, the more inclusiveness we inject in our every day lives, will go that much further in building a brighter tomorrow for all.

"The Blossom Shoppe" is a beautifully illustrated and extremely meaningful picture book that I believe has the potential to reach and impact its readers in various ways. The story follows two sisters, Poppy and Posie Blossom, on their journey to save their family's flower shoppe (which they run with their mother, Mama Blossom) in a gray town that is unable to see what their store and their blossoms have to offer. In order to save their shop, Poppy and Posie have to find a way to make their dull town understand the power and beauty of their flowers, however in order to do so, they must first believe in themselves and allow their unique colors to shine, regardless of what others might think. Which can be, as most of us know, a very scary thing to do!

This is a great book to share with children to encourage them to be understanding and accepting of others. It also has the potential to inspire them to be innovative and persistent in the face of adversity and convey to them the magical things that can happen when we not only accept, but believe in the things that make us special and different. I think this book is especially great to share with children who feel different, misunderstood, left out, or are overcoming struggles. Poppy and Posie are great role models and their story can be an inspiration and comfort to many.

This is a wonderful book about how small seeds and believe in miracles can change a town. This book also teaches that it is OK to be unique and stand out. The story line is captivating - I kept turning pages over to see what happens next. Illustrations are gorgeous and they evolve to keep up with the changes in the story line.
