Over de Auteur

Duncan Brine is a Princeton-educated landscape designer. Raised in a family of writers and readers (his mother is a Time senior editor, his father is a Book-of-the-Month Club editor), Brine worked in theater and film before founding his design firm, Horticultural Design, in 1984. Specializing in toon meer residential gardens, his work has taken him from rooftop gardens in Manhattan to rural properties throughout the East Coast. He lives with his wife and two sons in Pawling, New York, amidst his six-acre nursery garden. toon minder

I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting of this book, but somehow it didn't do it for me. This is not to say that it isn't a nice little book. I enjoyed the literary excerpts, some familiar, others new and unexpected. The articles after the excerpts were very informative if one has never had a garden before. I suppose they might fire the imagination if one has a completely new garden as well. Mostly how-to on the growing of specific plants, some which inform on creating a certain type of garden such as shade, fragrant, or "junk." A few simple recipes and such.… (meer)
