By the time I reached book three I found myself totally invested in this series and Cindy, Jacques and the York family. This outing has Cindy accidentally signing on to represent a released murdered and that send her straight...no spoilers! This time around Jacques in the one that convinces Cindy to investigate and it’s a doozy along with the way Cindy finally deals with her mother-in-law. A must read in my book! Sally gets roped into letting a TV show use her shop for a segment of their senior dating show. Her cantankerous neighbor started the ball rolling, and even Sally’s grandmother got involved. The outcome wasn’t exactly telecast friendly - the contestants were less than thrilled when they saw each other - but it still had a somewhat happen outcome. That is, until the host of the show is found bludgeoned to death in Sally’s shop with her rolling pin. Sally’s business drops off dramatically, and so she decides she has to solve the case since she thinks the police aren’t acting quickly enough. The really question is, is putting herself in danger? And the answer is, of course she is. But that won’t stop her from her quest. This cozy is a quick read, intriguing and entertaining, with great characters who keep the action moving.
