Lieutenant Carey H. Cash, Chaplain, United States Navy, is a battalion chaplain to infantry Marines based at Camp Pendleton, California. In Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was the first ground combat force to cross the border into Iraq. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological toon meer Seminary and was commissioned as a chaplain in 1999. Got this book from my mom from CCHS library. Read in Jan 2021. Quick read that provides interesting perspective of the march into Baghdad from 1/5's chaplain. Gives good details and amplifies them with testimony from the chaplain into the role God had in many of the Marine's lives during the conflict. Fun fact: 1/5's battalion commander was the CG of 3rd MARDIV when I was a 2ndLt in Oki.

this book shows you the reality of war from a christian perspective not many war books do that! i really enjoyed this book

A Table in the Presence is a vastly different book from one of a similar name, A Table in the Presence of Mine Enemies. This volume is the tale of a soldier in combat as he and his men experienced the grace of God in the face of death and combat. I recommend this one highly for anyone trying to understand soldiers under stress.
