Gina Cavallaro

Gina Cavallaro reports for Army Times, a Gannett weekly newspaper. She joined Army Times in 2001 as deputy news editor, and a year later chose to put her boots on the ground and become a full-time staff writer. Cavallaro began her career in journalism in San Juan, Puerto Rico, working at WOSO-AM, the island's only English-language radio station, and later became a reporter and editor at the English-language daily newspaper, The San Juan Star. At Army Times, she has spent eight months in Iraq during four trips, and also has covered military operations in Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Germany and dozens of Army posts in the United States.
