I did enjoy the story, but it was only somewhat suspenseful, not quite the "thriller" for me. A young person might find it more of a thriller and and maybe even more interesting.

A 28 year old man who loses his girlfriend and his job all in one week because of his alcoholism. A 9-year-old girl who started school out with a lisp, made her an outcast among the school kids. A 14-year-old new kid in town with a smart mouth was beat up and threatened with his life if he was seen talking to the bully's girlfriend again. These misfits are spiritually chosen to conquer a satanic ancient beast who has emerged from a cave in the woods after centuries of being trapped. He builds his strength and healings off feedings from humans inside the cave and throwing their remains into the water, entrapping their souls. By destroying the gateway, the blue lighted vortex, you destroy the creature forever and release the souls that were trapped.

Several kids had suddenly gone missing in one week’s time in Glenwood, Massachusetts, and, within 3 weeks, nearly four thousand people, would be missing, or killed, just like the colony that disappeared three centuries earlier, in the 1700’s, before the beast is finally killed for good.… (meer)
