Bill Center has reported on a wide spectrum of stories in his thirty-two-year sportswriting career, including NASCAR and various motorsports events. Considered one of the most versatile sportswriters in the country, Center has covered eighteen Daytona 500s, twenty-six Indianapolis 500s, thirty-two toon meer world championship boxing fights, twelve World Series, four NCAA basketball championships, six Super Bowls, the Alaska Iditarod, and has conducted interviews with hundreds of high-profile personalities. As a distinguished sportswriter for The San Diego Union-Tribune since 1967, Center has filed feature stories on motor racing, boxing, baseball, basketball, and sailing that have earned him numerous awards, including two coveted Copley Ring of Truth Awards (1983 and 1987) for his coverage of the America's Cup. Center is the father of three children and lives in San Diego with his wife, Susan. toon minder
