Picture book with a surprising amount of scientific detail. Beautiful illustrations that are actually visual representations of the process of photosynthesis, respiration, and energy production, all tied between the sunlight, plants, and animals. Told from the point of view of the sun, the author traces the journey from the photons of the sun to the processes happening within plants and animals for growth and life. Great resource for studying heterotrophs vs. autotrophs, or cellular respiration and metabolism, etc.… (meer)

This book is great for teachers or parents to show the magic of what it is to be human. It shows us how everything around us uses energy to live and work. Want to teach photosynthesis? This is the book for that. It's a easy read and I would recommend it.

This book describes the hydrologic cycle in detail using key vocabulary words such as evaporation, precipitation, condensation, liquid, solid, and vapor. I liked this book because it is talking about the water cycle but is does it in a way children could understand. It uses the key vocabulary words but it puts the definitions in kid friendly language. I also like the pictures that it uses to describe what is happening to the water in each stage. The pictures show where the water started, where it goes and how it gets there. I would use this book in upper elementary grades to introduce the water cycle. It goes into details so it gives students a glimpse of what the water cycle is and it introduces key words and phrases.… (meer)

This is a great way to teach younger kids about photosynthesis and how all life on earth works and operates. The books might have had some terms that are a little advanced for children but that could open up to discussion and they could learn more. I thoroughly enjoyed the illustration in the book. the illustrations are very detailed, warm and colorful.
