I just finished all five of this series and I have to say while I wanted to read Quinlan's story forever this was probably my least favorite in the entire series. I think that somewhere the "true Quinlan" got lost.

This prequel to The Deadly (Kincaid Brothers) series is a thrilling read that keeps the reader on their toes.

RN Kaitlyn O’Reilly thought she had found love with a well liked and charming surgeon, but once engaged the good doctor became the stuff of nightmares and Kaitlyn hasn’t been able to find a way out. Jock Kincaid knows that the beautiful – but engaged – redhead he met at a fund-raising gala is exactly what’s been missing from his life. When he finally meets her again, he swears that not only is he not letting her get away again, but to protect her from the deranged doctor bent on destroying them both.

This steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with suspense, drama and romance. The author paints such a vivid picture of each scene that the reader feels as if they are taking part in the unfolding drama. The characters are strong, compelling and easily related to.

The attraction between Kaitlyn and Jock sizzles with passion and captures the heart of the reader. Kaitlyn has a strong personality, but becomes vulnerable to this madman and unfortunately the only way she can think to get out would be to give everything she’s worked for up, but she doesn’t want him to win and reader’s not only empathize with her, but can certainly understand where she’s coming from. Jock is a wonderful and charming character that reminds readers of a knight in shining armor.

The tension builds as the doctor tries to have things his way, but the romance takes the reader’s breath away and brings tears of happiness to their eyes during a couple of scenes. I love how the author ended the story with a look at the how the couple’s life turned out in the future which in turn teases the reader’s with glimpses of the other books in the series, which unfortunately I have not read… yet.

I wanted to like this book in the series, but something about it just didn't hold my attention like the first book did. It almost felt forced, Taylor and Gavin. Their first time meeting in the hospital had good chemistry between them, but after that it just fell flat. So much so I skimmed a good portion of the book.

Not really my thing. Some suspect grammar, and rather poorly edited. Author had a tendency to write "he" when there are lots of men in the room and it's not clear who is the subject. Takes a bit of working out. Also I kept having to flick back to see if someone had left the room as they weren't there any more but there was no mention of them leaving. Rather frustrating. Wouldn't read any more by this author.

Enjoyed very much. Liked the way that the hero, Ian, and the heroine, Rori, interacted with one another. The little jabs at each other, that make the sparks fly between them. Also, like that she wasn't a laid back, oh let the big man take care of it, type of girl. That she and he were in the same business, so to speak :)

And yet another spooky romantic suspense from Jaycee Clark. She's quickly becoming a favorite of mine, especially if you like your villains on the truly evil side!

Cora's always been a bit different, and a bit psychic. Some of her dreams seem to come true. But then there are 'those' dreams--they only come every so often, and the one time she tried to take action and help...it really backfired on her and almost caused her to doubt herself. But now 'those' dreams are back and more frightening than ever, because they are about a killer who kidnaps and tortures women, kills them during sex, and then cuts out and keeps their eyes! And the scariest part? All those women have light blue 'angel eyes'...and so does Cora!

Rogan is ex-special ops and still on the trail of a killer who ruined his life. It took him a long time to clear his name and even now there are those who think he just 'got off' and wasn't really innocent. After all, he was the last one seen with his girlfriend...she of the light blue eyes. Now he's found Cora and for some reason, those instincts of his are telling him to stay close...maybe a little too close?

Spooky, scary, and will get your heart rate up! Another excellent read from Ms. Clark.

Yes. After reading the other books in Jaycee Clark's 'Deadly' series, I finally got "Deadly Obsession". It's another spine-tingler that will have you shuddering and cringing from the twisted, psychotic villain and his obsession with the heroine.

Christian has made her home with the Kinncaid's for the last nine years. She still can't quite remember how she came to their home, but will be forever thankful that they offered her terrified younger self a safe haven and a family so much better than the one she fled. And now, as an adult, she and Brayden Kinncaid are finally facing the feelings that have grown between them. But just when Christian thinks her life is her own...she acquires a stalker. And it's not just any stalker, it's the one she fled from all those years ago. His message to 'his Angel'? 'You'll always be mine.'

I still get shivers writing that last sentence. I'll say again that Clark can write some of the scariest psychos you'll ever read about. Now I have to find out why the youngest Kinncaid brother's story hasn't been published yet. Cause it's one I want to read.

"Deadly Games" is yet another winner for me from Jaycee Clark. It's almost scary how well she writes her villains. And it doesn't seem to matter if they are male or female, she imbues them with a sense of menace and absolute amorality.

Rori is ready to retire. Her unique upbringing and parental situation resulted in the perfect contract killer--the Raven. Her job has made her extremely wealthy even though she's careful to screen her jobs in an effort to make sure those she kills really need killing. But there's something 'off' with this last job offer and Rori decides to investigate even more closely than normal. What she finds is her alter-ego in male form.

Ian is a master of disguise and works so deeply undercover, sometimes it's hard to remember just who he really is. When his covers are blown as he rescues a small child from a porn ring, he sets into play the plans he's had for all these years...with one difference...the Raven will be coming with him.

Thrills and chills just aren't enough to describe these books by Jaycee Clark. She makes you believe in her characters and this book where both hero and heroine are killers is a prime example. It would have been hard for me to imagine a story with lead characters who were killers that I would enjoy...yet here it is. I liked both Rori and Ian. Their characters and morals may be different from mine, but in their world those morals are necessary to keep the rest of 'us' safe. Two flawed individuals who work together to save a child and end up saving themselves. I've already ordered book three and sent the author an email to ask about book five. I like this series that much.

Jaycee Clark can craft psychos with amazing skill. In "Deadly Ties" she's come up with a female villain that will scare the pants off you! This is book two in her 'Deadly' series about the Kinncaid men and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!

Taylor spends her time working and celebrating the joys of her adopted son Ryan. Ryan still needs extra time to adjust after almost being killed by his drug-addicted psychotic mother. Thankfully, she's now in jail and Taylor and Ryan moved to a new town to start over...hopefully leaving bad memories behind. But Ryan still has a secret he hasn't yet shared with Taylor. Sometimes he 'sees' things that are or will happen. And the bad news is--he just 'saw' his mother escaping from prison and headed for them.

Gavin is a dedicated OB/GYN and charming ladies' man. His meeting with Taylor isn't exactly cordial...a battered pregnant teen has just died and Gavin was unable to save either the teen or the unborn child. Of course, that doesn't explain why he and Taylor, her social worker, strike such sparks off each other. And when, a few hours later, he comes upon Taylor and Ryan after their car skidded off the road, it doesn't explain why he feels such a need to ensure their safety.

Another excellent suspense story from Jaycee Clark. Her sex scenes are hot and ride the line between erotic and romantic. They are graphic, but still don't quite cross the line for me. Her characters become so real, they stay in your mind even after the book is finished. I enjoy that and am now off to order book three and read book four!½

"Deadly Shadows" wasn't my first read by Jaycee Clark...and it won't be my last either. Clark manages to imbue her stories with menace that can give me a chill down my spine. Her ability to invoke absolute evil in her villains is downright freaky.

Jesslyn lived through unspeakable pain and sadness when she lost both her husband and her children to a drunk driver. Just as she begins to feel strong enough to 'live' instead of 'exist', she's again subjected to loss. She stumbles on the body of her dear friend, blood-soaked and dead and catches just the outline of her fleeing murderer. If that's not enough to deal with, she's also very attracted to her new 'guest'. And since nobody feels she's safe, she agrees to stay in the main house with him. But the murderer isn't done, and he isn't done with Jesslyn either.

Spooky, sexy, and scintillating. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. My only beef was in the identity of the villain. I didn't think I'd gotten enough clues to guess his identity...he kind of came out of left field and that bugged me. But it didn't bug me enough to kill my enjoyment of the overall story. If the rest of Clark's 'Deadly' series is about the rest of the Kinncaid brothers, I can see a book-buying spree in my future. And won't the hubby just love that! These brothers' motto is "This I'll defend", and they are fierce in their love ***sigh***. Anyway, if you like your romance chilling and a bit eerie, try out "Deadly Shadows".

"Ghost Cats" is an anthology of 5 stories dealing with cat-shifters. I'll rate each story...

The Revenge by Jaycee Clark - 3.5 stars; Two former lovers reunite to battle the evil that killed their first child and destroyed their happiness.

Rain on the Mountain by Elaine Corvidae - 2 stars; Low rating because this story shouldn't have been in an erotica anthology. It was an urban fantasy murder mystery heavily based on Mayan history and folklore.

Lynx to the Pharaoh by Shelley Munro - 4 stars; A widow learns the meaning of freedom with an Egyptian shifter who guards the treasures of the Pharaoh. HOT

Animal Instinct by Michelle M Pillow - 4 stars; A wildlife caretaker saves a panther that's near death only to discover he's also the man of her dreams. HOT

Best Intentions by Mandy M Roth - 2 stars; Sex was hot, but I hated the heroine. Don't think she made a single wise decision in the entire story and the 'Alpha' let her get away with it!

So overall a 3, but a couple of real gems hidden in there too.
