This is a fine book of poetry--sophisticated, yet well within the range of an average reader to understand. Many of these poems reflect a strong working-class sensibility with a deep concern for workers treated unfairly by their employers. Other poems are about difficult relationships, the power of memory to sacralize reality, and the transience of all things, including all things good. The poems reveal a great deal of craft, and some of the enjambment is exquisite. I highly recommend this wonderful and accessible collection of poetry.
