The dialogue-driven story follows Myaisha when a murder interrupts her writing. This is a slow-burn investigative story from a doctor's point of view. However, the Myaisha often looks at the case like a mystery writer instead of a medical doctor.

I feel like that very much described how I felt about this book. While there was some inspiration from African mythology, I was hoping for more from this book. There was also something that I just didn't like about the writing style. While it wasn't exactly bad, it wasn't particularly good either. Of course everyone has their own preferences around this though. When I read the blurb I felt like I would love this book, but unfortunately it seems that I wasn't as much a part of the target audience as I thought I would be. I hope that others have better luck with this book than I did.… (meer)

I couldn't get as into the mystery as I would like and the characters didn't draw me in.
With a good line edit and maybe a few beta readers, this could turn into a good book for someone who finds books with medical elements interesting.
