Short, sweet, and very sexy. A perfect bedtime story to satisfy the adult reader and their inner child.

Princess Bellamie shouldn't have been travelling unaccompanied through middle-of-nowhere USA. She shouldn't have wrecked her car, and she most assuredly should not be doing what she finds herself doing with a mechanic on the side of the road.

But this is a real-world fairy tale, and she's a princess, so of course, everything resolves in a happily-ever-after ending.

I enjoyed everything about this delightful story. Fun characters, witty dialogue, love-at-first-sight and ill-advised impulsive sex. What's not to love?… (meer)

On a disastrous first date with a guy she met online, Sage declares she is going to seduce her date's father. She's furious enough to follow through with the threat, and a few weeks later, she has scored herself a job as a cocktail waitress in a club owned by her date's father.

When sage and Kenton, the father, meet, they are immediately smitten with one another. Of course, neither guesses the other's feelings nor makes a move until circumstances bring them together away from the club where the sparks can fly freely.

This sweet "instalove" story turns deliciously steamy before it is done, and it left me with a satisfied grin.

"King of the Clubhouse" is part of the "Short Kings" series of standalone romances, each featuring male leads who are short in stature but more than make up for it elsewhere.

This book was hot, hot, hot. Even before they progressed to the physical stage of their relationship things were hot. Both of their internal monologues were steamy! I loved every minute of it, with the mutual workplace ogling and appreciation of both their looks and minds the connection was perfect. I loved Hugo and I would marry him in a heartbeat if Demetra doesn't. He is philanthropic, older, hot, smart, and Irish to boot what more can a girl ask for?

I have so much appreciation for the time Hugo took to do research about Kwanzaa and the genuine interest he had in it. He never disrespected her family traditions or undermined Kwanzaa's value and I am so glad cause ignorance is not cute. I love that the epilogue included Demetra getting a promotion and Hugo becoming a stay-at-home dad. His family obviously has mad cash so I have so much respect that Demetra kept working because she loves her job and the impact she has. Hugo calling fatherhood his next big project made my heart flutter, and his interactions with their kids were beautiful. The poor baby brother and his marker hair. I will say that her brother and his girlfriends' conflicts were so weird, I assume there will a book for his and Fern's story because it seemed glossed over. I loved her relationships with her parents and brother because they were so real and honest and not made of some stereotype or trope so thank you.

This couple was hot, hot, hot. I loved their chemistry and the inner monologues they each had about each other. The fact that they both wanted to ask the other one out before the incident shows how much they progressed from a simple crush to mad (perceived) unrequited love. I completely get both of their hesitations regarding approaching each other and sympathize with Mays’ guilt over what happened. I am so glad she stuck to her morals as a defence attorney and in regards to attorney-client privilege even with all the rumours and the complaint, she is the kind of lawyer our system needs more of.

*SPOILERS BEGIN*

Goodness me, that moment when Cyrus finds her as she faints is pure romance gold. Then the declarations about taking care of her, so sweet, but the best moment was Cyrus realizing she needed a physical release for her negative emotions and that he could do that for her (*winks).
Gah, the way they understand each other so well both sexually and emotionally just shows how much attention they paid, even before the incident. Sexually they are so in tune and into each other, it makes me jealous. Like damn they could never have bad sex with that level of chemistry.

I also appreciate that while the incident was very unfortunate but it did force Cyrus to change careers and him being a P.I. is much less contentious than a detective if Mays wants to date him. A defence attorney and a detective could cause a lot of conflict of interest, especially because Cyrus wouldn’t necessarily have control over the cases he worked. Now with him working as a P.I., they can either end up either on the same side or work completely different cases. So maybe everything happens for a reason.

p.s. I wish cops and firemen played basketball outside my office window, very jealous of Mays
