Michael Danz

This project consists of four original compositions written for guitar ensembles
comprised of relatively new guitarists. These pieces were specifically written for elementary
school guitar ensemble, but they may also serve in other areas. All four pieces are easily
applicable to any middle school or high school guitar program, or they can be used by any
general music teacher who wishes to add quality guitar skills to his or her curriculum. Two of
the pieces, “The Matador” and “Country Lullaby” are written in three guitar parts, while the
other two pieces “Drizzle” and “Nightfall” also contain two violin parts, as well as viola, cello
and bass. The Orchestra parts are written at a fifth grade playing ability level, so it is easy to get
some string players from the fifth grade orchestra involved in the group, or for the guitar
ensemble to play along with the entire orchestra.… (meer)
