Kathryn Adams Doty

This is a book I would have loved as a kid. But as an adult, it reads more like a young adult misty memoir, than an interesting story. It’s not a bad story, but bland. The main character, Elizabeth, is written as a quiet girl, but with a stubborn streak. The rest of the characters were stereotypes, from the director of the orphanage who has a “beat out satan” style, to the overly nice nurse, who Elizabeth befriends.
