- Lady Charlotte
Elliot, née Carnegie, was born in Farnell, Angus, Scotland, a daughter of Sir James Carnegie, 5th Baronet and his wife Charlotte Lysons. In 1860, she married Thomas Fothringham, and after his death four years later remarried to Frederick Boileau Elliot, with whom she had a son. Under the pseudonym Florenz, she was the
author of three volumes of poetry, beginning with Stella, and Other Poems (1867). Much of her work drew on religious and mythological themes, and often focused on women in demanding situations. - Ontwarringsbericht
