BethelMQT | 5 andere besprekingen | Jun 6, 2019 | David G Evans is a Bishop in New Life Ministries International and he is an insightful instructorof spiritual truth. A motto of the book is "The Past Has No Power Over Your Future!" When a person is dispirited, when pain from the past lingers in your life and causes emotional scars, you need to understand that God is always ready to help you. He can help heal you without scars. The book includes many insightful contemporary and biblical accounts of those who have emerged victorious from life's trials and tests. There are sections of the book that show you how to overcome depression, anger, fear and hopelessness and accounts to discover the path to personal wholeness, to find peace in the midstof storms, to renew your hopes and dreams and experience a life of freedom and joy. "Our wounds and scars position us to make contact with God's healing power but we try to deliver ourselves by our own methods instead of reaching out for Jesus. Spiritual strength includes the means of popwer to pull Christians out of the depth of sin and back into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

RacineCC | 5 andere besprekingen | Aug 11, 2013 | I found Healed Without Scars to be a very insightful book and one that I plan to reread. It’s filled with life giving nuggets for those of us who have some lingering scars from life’s fires. He starts off the book by presenting the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in a manner that I’ve never looked at the text before. Their survival of such a fiery trial alone is a great testament to the power of God but to come out without residue from the fire is amazing. However, many of us haven’t fared so well. Yes, we may have survived abandonment, disappointment, abuse or whatever your “fiery furnace” was but we didn’t come out with everything intact if we’re honest. Those lingering scars leak over into our present and future emotional, relational, and spiritual lives. Bishop David Evans not only helps one to identify scars but sheds a message of hope and wholeness through God. I highly recommend this book.

FMCLincoln | 5 andere besprekingen | Feb 26, 2012 | This earnest evangelical drama draws inspiration from the Bible verse Hebrews 4:16 ("We will find grace to help us when we need it") in its tale of a police officer named Bill "Mac" McDonald (Michael Joiner) whose life is shattered (and his faith severely challenged) when he loses his son in a tragic accident. Eighteen years of rage and hostility ensue, marked by rapidly crumbling relationships with his family members and strained relationships on the force. Events reach a fever pitch, however, when Mac gets partnered up in the squad car with Sam Wright (Michael Higgenbottom), an African-American ordained minister-turned-cop with a loving and supportive family. Despite the many obstacles standing in the way, the men gradually work toward overcoming their differences and helping one another. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi Hide
