I was not impressed with this book. In spite of the fact that Evans was a long-standing journalist with the Wall Street Journal, I found the writing and analysis superficial, and overly hostile, even if you account for the fact that Evans *was* writing for the 1950s Wall Street Journal. You can't blame it on the restrictions he might have been up against -- even he admits these were half-way enforced. About the only value is a few fragments showing Russia still recovering (eleven years later) from the Great Patriotic War (as they view it). Not recommended.… (meer)
