This book has told the story of an alternative healing class that was lead by a Hawaiian kahuna healer. The healer's kahuna training, his contact with healers of other cultures, and his unique life experiences gave him the foundation to teach the art of learning to see with ki.

An important part of the world view is the notion that ki exists in unlimited supply and can be used for healing self and others. Healing in this system is not a matter of beining born with certain owers, but rather it entails learning to perceive subtle energies and then learning to channel these energies for healing. To become a channel or conduit for the energy means learning to put one's ego aside and allowing the energy to do its work through the channel. It is not something that can be willed, and it requires an altered state of consciousness.
