The subject of this book, Hermes Pan, is well deserved of this book on his life and work. Pan's work with Fred Astaire is legendary but he worked with so many others as well including Rita Hayworth and Betty Grable. The book details his life from early childhood to his interest in dance and also his strong faith in God. The book describes many of the film's dance routines in detail, sometimes a bit too much detail. The book is well researched with much of the information taken from an unpublished autobiography by Pan as well as interviews with family, co-workers, and friends. My disappointment in the book was the small font size that made it somewhat difficult to read, photographs that could have been a bit larger, and the lack of a complete filmography that would have provided a list of the films, television, and Broadway work of this great choreographer.… (meer)
