The old and greedy Scrooge always hated Christmas. In order to prevent him from living the rest of his life miserable and alone, the ghost of his deceased business partner sends him three Christmas spirits that would hopefully change his perspective on the holiday - and life in general.

“A Christmas Carol” will be kept in my mind forever, as like many other stories with messages so strong. There are indeed many, many books that aim to share a message that would hopefully change the reader for the better; but I found that Dickens’ simple, short story was written so eloquently that no matter how predictable it could be at times, you wouldn’t lose interest or heart.

When a situation in the novel is saddening, your heart will wrench. When parties and acts of kindness take place, a buzz will be warming your entire body. It can be rare for words to create such an effect on the reader, but “A Christmas Carol” truly does just that!

There can be a couple of difficult words and the sentencing can cause confusion, but a quick Google or dictionary search should fix that problem. Don’t let the thought of old language and a few complicated words steal you away from reading such a great book!… (meer)
